Your Handy Hero

As I grew up, my father's wide range of talents and skills inspired me. He worked as a maintenance mechanic, gas fitter, and carpenter, among other roles. His adeptness in home repairs, coupled with his experience, ignited my curiosity and passion for fixing things. I can share countless stories of me when I was young, taking something apart, and my dad putting it together. I spent many hours with him on various projects, absorbing his knowledge and practical skills. His motto was "anything worth doing is worth doing right." Not only did it enhance my abilities, but it also fostered a deep appreciation for doing a good job.

By the time I was ten, I had my own business. I would ride my bike around the small town where I grew up, mowing grass or shovelling snow for those who were too busy to do it themselves. With the money I made, I invested in and improved my tools, and my little business thrived. As I matured, more and more people began to ask for my help with repairs, further igniting my enthusiasm for fixing things, building, and solving problems.

Today, I take pride in sharing the invaluable lessons I've gained. It's been a fulfilling journey as I honour my late father’s lessons while contributing to my community, one repair at a time.

A hand covered in dirt and grease is prominently holding a small metal object, possibly a nut or bolt. In the background, there are bicycles, one of which seems to have parts disassembled. The hand's positioning suggests the person might have been working on repairing or maintaining the bicycles.
